Each task rises only to the level it needs
Orchestration relies on the Semantic Scale: deterministic code for the exact, dictionaries for the known, dedicated components for OCR and classification, lightweight API models for interpretive work, frontier models only when complexity justifies it, and human review where responsibility lies.
- No vendor lock-in. The model gateway lets us switch between OpenAI, Anthropic and Google without rewriting the system. The switch happens for price, privacy, quality on the specific task, or because a provider deprecates a model.
- Full traceability. Every extraction, classification and response carries the cited sources and the scale level that produced it. Auditing means opening the record, not re-running the pipeline.
- Human review where it belongs. The system proposes and explains. The person with responsibility reviews, edits and signs off. When the model is not sure, the system says so instead of making it up.
- Real cost control. You do not pay a frontier model to classify an invoice. You pay OCR and dictionary for the tabular part, lightweight model for the interpretive part, and frontier model only when the problem really requires it.
